The Saitama Smart City Innovation Hackathon is an intense, non-stop 36-hour development marathon that challenges programmers, designers, data analysts, and product managers to build functional prototypes from scratch. The core focus of this hackathon is to solve modern civic issues, including public transit tracking, waste management optimization, municipal energy tracking, and local emergency alert networks.
Teams consisting of 2 to 5 members will collaborate under one roof, utilizing various APIs, cloud credits, and dataset frameworks provided by event partners. Experienced technical mentors from top technology firms will rotate through the venue continuously to assist teams with debugging, architectural planning, and UX/UI refinement. At the conclusion of the 36 hours, each team will present a live working demo of their software to a panel of expert judges. Cash prizes, cloud credits, and incubation support will be awarded to the top three innovative solutions. High-speed internet, power grids, meals, and overnight resting zones will be fully provided to all registered participants.
